Once you've collect all 10 puffle chips for Operation: Puffle, you can help stop Herbert! You'll receive this message from Gary.
He'll send you to Herbert's Lair. Enter the room...
Uh-oh! Herbert has trapped you in a ring of fire!
We must escape! Click on air vent to break it, then walk inside.
Walk through the ventilation system and to enter Herbert's Lair.
We're in! Click on Herbert's mind-control machine.
Place the colored chips in their correct slots, then press the red button.
Congratulations! You've freed all of the puffles!

Who is Herbert?
So you might be wondering, what is a polar bear doing on Club Penguin? Well, Herbert P. Bear left his home of the Arctic Circle to find a place that is warm, sunny, and tropical. He drifted away on a piece of iceberg which lead him to Club Penguin. To his disappointment, Club Penguin is also covered in snow! Herbert is annoyed by us penguins, as he hates loud music, parties, and tooting. He's been a suspect by the Elite Penguin Force for a while now as he has tried many times to destroy Club Penguin.
How can I find Herbert?
It is very rare for Herbert to make appearances on the island. His only visit so far was during Operation: Blackout, when he took over the island!
If he is online, you must be on same server as Herbert to met him. He spends about 15 minutes on each server and then hops to a different one.
Here are some server tips:
— Herbert will be on a 4-5 bar server
— He does go on safe-chat servers
— He does go on different language servers
You can always use this Herbert tracker to help you find Herbert.
How does Herbert look like?
It is very easy to distinguish Herbert from others, since he is not a penguin but a polar bear. He is covered in white/grey fur, has thick eye brows, has is much larger than a normal penguin.
What can I do when I find him?
If you find Herbert, you can add him as a friend, get his free background, and earn the "Meet Herbert" stamp.

Hey, I've seen that picture before - Herbert tweeted a sneak peek of his computer last week.
But what the sneak peek didn't reveal was this "To Capture" list.
This is not good: Gary, Dot, Rookie, Jet Pack Guy, and The Director are all on the "To Capture" list. If he does capture them, Club Penguin will be doomed!

Thanks to a new secret in Club Penguin's site that can pull up images of any penguin's avatar, pictures of Herbert's playercard where discovered!

ESCAPEE ALERT: Herbert P. Bear!
ALL AGENTS: RED ALERT, RED ALERT! Herbert has escaped his cage and is on the loose! Take a look for yourself at the "Herbert Cam" located in the EPF Command Room.
Back in August 2011, the EPF captured Herbert during the Great Snow Race party.Our mission was called Operation: Hibernation. We captured Herbert as he was hibernating and we set up a cage around him. It seems as if Herbert has somehow woke up and ran away, or someone has helped Herbert to escape...

Here are you orders for the upcoming operation:
Step 1. Track Herbert's location
Step 2. Blast locations with cold air (should put him into hibernation)
Step 3. Infiltrate Herbert's lair
Step 4. Capture Herbert once and for all
